Head there and you'll find that a Ghost Fleet World Event has begun. If you see the skull of Captain Flameheart flying high in the sky (it'll be a red skull with a pirate hat and a beard, all made of clouds), that means a Ghost Fleet has been summoned. What's especially great about this is that some the treasure is Athena's Fortune treasure, which is worth quite a pretty penny. You can use this to open the Fort of Fortune Vault, which will be filled with treasure chest and the game's new gold bags. In the 17th wave, you'll have to fight two Skeleton Lords, and in the 18th and final wave, you'll need to fight an Ashen Lord.ĭefeat all of these enemies to receive the Fort of Fortune Vault Key.
In the 16th wave, you'll have to fight a Skeleton Lord. Take them out and the skeleton mobs as well and eventually, the 16th wave will begin. Every three to five waves, a random, named Skeleton Captain will appear. There are 15 waves of enemies to defeat first and you'll fight coral skeletons, the dark skeletons, standard skeletons, and gold skeletons. The Fort of Fortune is one of the hardest challenges in Sea of Thieves. Any Skeleton Fort in Sea of Thieves can become a Fort of Fortune. When you see a large skull in the sky made of clouds with glowing red eyes, a glowing nose socket, and three glowing lines on the forehead area, it means the fort beneath that symbol is now a Fort of Fortune. When you defeat them, you'll receive an Ashen Winds Skull (basically a flamethrower, but it can also be sold) and a Devil's Roar treasure item.įorts of Fortune are the newest world event added to Sea of Thieves. Ian the final stage, more and more rocks will fall from above and geysers on the ground will erupt with fire - just make sure to be moving at all times during this.If you see the Lord lift its fiery-red arm into the air, run away - it's about to slam the ground which will do fire-based AOE damage and push you and anyone around it back.Dodge these as they can do a ton of damage and they light you on fire - if you ever catch fire, jump into the closest nearby water you can find. The swirling "tornado" overhead will launch fiery rocks onto the island.There's nothing you can really do to stop it so run away until you're clear of the fire. It's exactly what it sounds like - essentially, the Ashen Lord's mouth will become a flamethrower. The main attack to watch out for is the fire breath.There are multiple different Ashen Lords in Sea of Thieves - Captain Grimm is one, for example - and while each looks differently, they are mostly the same in battle. It turns out that it's not actually a tornado at all, but rather, the formation of summoning winds made by Ashen Skeleton on the island - they're summoning the Ashen Lord that you're about to fight. Sail toward that red tornado and you'll find that it's swirling above an island. When you see a large, swirling red tornado, it means an Ashen Lord will soon arrive to the Sea of Thieves.
